Councilwoman and Deputy Supervisor Kathleen Walsh held a Winter Country Bash fundraiser at Mulcahy’s Pub in Centereach on Thursday, January 12th. The huge crowd of supporters enjoyed food, drink and lively entertainment country style. Also on hand was a line dancing instructor who taught the diverse crowd how it’s done. Among the crowd were many members of the Mid-Brookhaven Republican Club, who always show their support for our Councilwoman. Also in attendance were fresh faces who were attending their first political fundraiser. Thank you to all who attended this fabulous event.

Over a thousand people came out to honor our Newfield Wolverines Football Team on Sunday, December 4th. The parade route ran from Hawkins Path Elementary School and finished up at Newfield High School where the stands were packed with Newfield fans, family members and friends cheering wildly for their hometown champions. This was the first championship for Newfield in its over 50 year history.

The event was a huge success thanks to the efforts of our councilwoman and deputy supervisor Kathleen Walsh, who took the lead in planning this event. Legislator Tom Muratore was also present at the event.

Deputy Supervisor Walsh and Legislator Tom Muratore presented each team member with a certificate of achievement from the Town of Brookhaven. Congratulations to the Newfield Football Team and its coaches on this remarkable achievement. And thank you to Councilwoman Walsh and her staff for their tireless efforts in making sure that this team got the recognition they so rightly earned.

The Mid-Brookhaven Republican Club hosted a pancake breakfast for Ed Munoz, our candidate for the 1st Town Council District at Ed’s headquarters on Rte 112 in Port Jefferson on Sunday, October 30, 2011. It was held from 9 am to 11 am. Club members braved the unseasonably cold early morning temperatures to help prepare for the breakfast. It was standing room only for the entire morning as Ed’s supporters and friends. Thanks to all who attended, supported and gave of their time to help put on this extremely successful event. This just goes to show what can be accomplished when we work together. This event was put together in just one week. A special thank you to Arlene Hoffman Sr. who came up with the idea of a pancake breakfast.

Members of the Mid-Brookhaven Republican Club gave up their Sunday of Labor Day weekend once again to man a tent at the Ronkonkoma Street Fair. Good weather prevailed for another year as throngs of fair goers strolled by our tent, many of them stopping to chat, pick up information about our candidates, or free campaign items such as pens, nail files, jar openers and chip clips. Our next County Executive Angie Carpenter was on hand for a time meeting and greeting fair goers, as was our next Town Supervisor, Cecile Forte and our next Town Councilman, Ed Munoz. The response we get from the people is always very positive, which is proof that our message is the right message.

Thank you to the following people who helped man the tent, President Ro Felice, Lou Felice, Armond LaFond, Arlene Hoffman Sr., Arlene Hoffman Jr., John Rago, Theresa Sperduto and Deborah McKee.

The Mid-Brookhaven Republican Club and 3rd District Councilwoman and Deputy Supervisor Kathleen Walsh held their 5th annual “Family Fun Night” on Thursday, August 18th at the Village Green miniature golf course in Ronkonkoma. It was a huge success. Over 100 people enjoyed a night of fun with their friends, children and grandchildren at this annual event. Along with the golf, adults as well as children enjoyed the soft drinks and ice cream. Most went home with one or more of the 125 prizes raffled off at the end of the night. Mother Nature also cooperated by holding off the rain till after the event.

Many elected officials as well as candidates stopped by to lend their support, including our county executive and Suffolk County Treasurer Angie Carpenter. Ruth Ann DiLena was on hand representing our candidate for Town Supervisor, Cecile Forte. Town council candidates Ed Munoz and Rich Cunha were also present. Debbie McKee, last year’s candidate for the state assembly and Legislator Tom Muratore also showed their support for Kathy by attending.

Much thanks to the members of the Mid-Brookhaven Republican Club and especially Theresa Sperduto for doing such a great job in putting this event together.
